Good Friday

Read Mark 15: 21 - 41

If the people at Jesus' crucifixion were alive when the term Good Friday was coined around the 4th Century, they could or would have asked, "What's good about the day that Jesus was crucified?"
In the midst of his anguish, Jesus cried, "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?"
Have you every felt forsaken? Have you ever felt like you are all alone? Have you every felt like there is no way out the challenge(s) that you are facing?
If so, then let me introduce or reintroduce you to Good Friday.
It is a Good Friday because Jesus died for you and for me.
It is a Good Friday because of Jesus' blood that was shed for you and for me.
It is a Good Friday because by Jesus' stripes on that day you are healed and I am healed.
It is a Good Friday because on the third day Jesus was resurrected.
It is a Good Friday because after the resurrection Jesus ascended into heaven where he is preparing a place for you and for me.
It is a Good Friday because when Jesus ascended into heaven to be with God he left the Holy Spirit to be with you and with me.
Friends, I offer Good Friday to you as a remembrance of whose you are and whom you serve.

Prayer: Write your prayer of thanksgiving for Good Friday.
