Read Mark 5: 35-43
Believe
The story of Jairus actually starts at the 22nd verse of this same chapter. Like many of us, Jairus, one of the synagogue rulers, had a problem that he wanted Jesus to address; his daughter was sick and dying. He sought Jesus to solve his divesting situation. However, Jesus knew Jairus’ concern and told him to “believe.” Jesus healed his daughter without anyone knowing it. Jesus even performed another miracle on His way to Jairus’ house.
As Jesus approached Jairus’ house He observed the wailing and mourning that was taking place outside of Jairus’ house and Jesus told the crowd that the girl was not dead but just asleep. He dismissed the crowd and went to the child’s side and told her to “get up.”
How often do we look to Jesus for help and not realize that our prayers have been answered without us even knowing it! Jesus says to us today the same thing that He said to Jairus in days of old: Believe.
Amen
Prayer:
Dear God, Help us to remember that Jesus is always with us and will help us even when we are not aware that He’s present.
Peace, Love and Joy,
Pastor Guy
