Read Mark 4:21-29

Are we ashamed of Christ?
Do we hide when we read our bible?
Do our coworkers know we’re Christians?
Do we have to tell people we are Christians or do our actions speak?

As I prayed & meditated on the scriptures I had to stop & thank God for the beautiful gifts he has given everyone of us. I had to thank him because no two gifts are alike but we all have a very precious gift from God.

How often do we neglect that special gift & keep it under the bed, never letting it blossom or bear fruit. How often do we make excuses not to use our special gifts? How often do we compare our gift to others never realizing we have a priceless diamond inside of us.
How often do we deny we have the gift?

Going deeper into the passage I had to ask myself, are we secretly doing things when we think nobody is watching? Are we a Christian on Sunday, but somebody completely different the rest of the week? Are we wearing different masks everywhere we go? Have we forgotten that our Father in Heaven sees it all even our deepest secrets & thoughts?

I imagine how bright the world would be if we decided to lift the bed up, take our gift out & let the whole world see the light!
Imagine our light shining everywhere we went!
Imagine if our light started to attract others to Christ!
Imagine if we never compared our gift to others, but instead thank God for the gift He has given us, and rejoice in the gift He gives others!
Imagine if we used our gifts to build up the church!
Imagine if we tried our best to walk with Christ everyday & not just Sundays!
Imagine if we let our light shine as we helped the homeless & pray for the sick!
Imagine our light shining & nothing & nobody could turn it off!
Imagine if we were united a million Christian strong with our light shining!
Wow how powerful would all that light be united together!

Imagine if we didn’t make a commitment for Advent, Lent, New Years, but instead made a commitment 7days a week 365 days a year to walk with Christ & let our light shine.

Everyone loves to open gifts, I wonder why sometimes we won’t open the best gift in the world? How can we deny the gift when Christ has told us we have this gift? A gift that only comes from the Lord, A gift that the world didn’t give you and can never take it away! How can we let such a precious gift go to waste?

I think its time we check our personal lamp
Is your lamp shining for the world to see?
Is your lamp a little dusty & need to be cleaned?
Is your lamp hidden under the bed & no one can see it?
Or perhaps your lamp needs a new bulb all together?

Best thing is we can call on the name of Jesus, He is the light of the world. Walking with Christ we will be walking in eternal light, knowing no two lamps are the same, but no lamp is better than another.

I am going to check my lamp, I pray you check yours too.
God Bless

Sharon Milton
